On 21st September 2019, which happened to be World Cleanup Day, we began our weekly litter picking project.

Every Saturday we meet as a group from 9.30-11am and pick litter (and fly tipped items) from the streets local to our venues.

In the first month of doing so, we picked 109 bags of litter. The local council have been extremely appreciative of this initiative and
have thanked us for our commitment to the local area.

The aims of this initiative are to:
1. Clean up the streets
2. Raise awareness about littering
3. Strengthen communities
4. Encourage a positive sense of identity
5. Improve self-esteem
